Description of Section

This includes the number of accessible spaces, the distance of the accessible spaces from the accessible entrance, and the accessibility of the path from the accessible spaces to the sidewalk that the entrance is on (includes curb ramps).

Details

  • There are two spaces that are marked as accessible, on either side of Allied Lane, about 365-385 feet away from the entrance - one of these spaces is about 97 inches wide and has an access aisle about 56-57 inches wide while the other space is about 100 inches wide, but the access aisle seems to overlap with the sidewalk where there is a slight lip

  • There is a space that isn't marked as an accessible space but has an access aisle that is about 200 feet away from the entrance, as well as 4 spaces that could work for some customers if the other spots aren't available and are about 185-265 feet away from the entrance

  • The curb ramps to get on the sidewalks from the accessible parking space are not steep, do not have a lip, and are very wide

Description of Section

This includes how easy it is to find the accessible entrance, steps/ramps/pathways from the curb ramp/sidewalk to the door, width of entrance door, lip under the entrance door, presence of automatic door openers, reachability of the door handle, and the weight of the door.

Details

  • There is one set of double doors used for the entrance and exit to this establishment, with no automatic door openers

  • The entrance/exit doors are a little heavy and difficult to open, and the bars on the doors used to open them are at accessible heights off the ground

  • The door openings are about 32-34 inches wide, and the lip underneath the doors is a little difficult to navigate over

Table Service

Description of Section

This includes if customers GENERALLY have to go somewhere else besides their table to pay, order, get food, get drinks, or put away dishes. We also consider if an establishment has trays for transporting food/drinks.

Details

  • The counter used to order, pay for, and get food and drinks is 36 inches off the floor, the table for hot drip coffee, creamer, lids, straws, etc. is 30 inches off the floor, and the surface that the self-serve water is on is 48 inches off the floor

  • Usually, customers have to transport their own food and drinks, and there are not trays for customers to use

  • Employees will swipe your card for you and are willing to sign for you with your permission

  • You can leave trash and dishes at your table and employees will clean up

Description of Section

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Details

  • The bathroom hallway and the pathway to the two-person tables inside are less than 32 inches wide which makes it impossible for some customers to use the bathroom/access these tables

  • The pathway to the back for the Knead and Sip class is a little tight, the pathway is 32-34 inches wide but there are items in the way

  • The pathways to the counter, point of sale, and the tables with more than 2 seats are more than 36 inches wide

  • No pathways are too steep inside the establishment, and the only inaccessible part of Great Harvest Bread Company is the outdoor patio because there is a step to get on it

Details

  • There are 1-2 tables that are accessible inside, all of the tables are at accessible heights but only 1-2 of them can be approached safely by a customer using an ambulatory device

  • The accessible tables inside are both located in the back of the establishment, near the bathrooms

  • The 2-person tables outside are easier to approach

Merchandise

Description of Section

This includes the reachability of merchandise, the availability of employees in the merchandise area, and the availability of bags with handles to help carry merchandise.

Details

  • The food, wine, and other merchandise could be considered hard to reach or too heavy, however there are employees nearby that are happy to help upon request

  • There are both plastic and paper bags with handles to help carry merchandise

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Details

  • There is one bathroom that customers can use, located near the back of the establishment

  • The bathroom is spacious enough for a customer using a wheelchair to do a 360-degree turn

  • There is 1 grab bar on the left side of the toilet that folds up and down

  • The toilet paper is 9-15 inches from the center of the front of the toilet, on the wall behind the toilet to the right

  • You have to turn on the lights, but the light switch is at an accessible height

  • The sink and paper towel dispenser are at accessible heights off the bathroom floor, but the mirror and soap dispenser are not

  • There is hand sanitizer at an accessible height off the floor

  • The bathroom door is a little heavy and difficult to open, but has: a wide doorway, no lip underneath it, and a handle at an accessible height

This includes the presence of accessibility features to make this establishment go above and beyond the accessibility of other establishments of the same type.

Details

  • There is a shelf in the bathroom at an accessible height and paper/plastic cups, lids and straws

  • This location offers both plastic and paper bags with handles to help carry purchased items
