Description of Section

This includes the number of accessible spaces, the distance of the accessible spaces from the accessible entrance, and the accessibility of the path from the accessible spaces to the sidewalk that the entrance is on (includes curb ramps).

Details

  • There is one accessible parking space right outside the main entrance (when there are other spots open, there are less than 25 non-accessible spaces)

  • There is a curb ramp that is in good shape to get to the sidewalk

Entrance

Description of Section

This includes how easy it is to find the accessible entrance, steps/ramps/pathways from the curb ramp/sidewalk to the door, width of entrance door, lip under the entrance door, presence of automatic door openers, reachability of the door handle, and the weight of the door.

Details

  • There are no steps and there is no incline to the main entrance

  • The main entrance does not have an automatic door

  • The door is a little difficult to open

  • The door handles are not at an accessible height

Table Service

Description of Section

This includes if customers GENERALLY have to go somewhere else besides their table to pay, order, get food, get drinks, or put away dishes. We also consider if an establishment has trays for transporting food/drinks.

Details

  • Customers have to go up to the bar to order, but food, drinks, and the check can be delivered to your table

  • There are trays

  • You can leave dishes and trash at your table

Interior Pathways

Description of Section

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Details

  • Signage is needed to show there are steps in the non-main entrance and to indicate that the bathroom on the left is more accessible

  • If it is busy, people in their chairs might prevent a wide-enough path

Customer Service/ Disability Etiquette

Description of Section

This includes how helpful and polite employees are (our speciality)!

Details

  • Employees offer to transport food, drinks, and the check

  • Employees do not check up on and offer assistance as much as they should

Description of Section

This includes the accessibility of tables (height of surface from floor and leg/foot room underneath, location of tables, and accessible seating and counter height at bar area.

Details

  • There is accessible seating and tables inside

  • There are only picnic tables in the outside seating area

  • The bar does not have an accessible section and all the seating is high off the ground at the bar

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Details

  • The bathroom on the left is more accessible and this is the one we rated

  • The bathroom door is a little heavy

  • The mirror and the light switch is not at an accessible height

  • The sink, soap, and drying equipment are reachable

  • A customer using a wheelchair might have difficulty turning 360 degrees

  • The toilet paper is 9-15 inches away from the toilet

  • The appropriate grab bars are available

Description of Section

This includes the presence of accessibility features to make this establishment go above and beyond the accessibility of other establishments of the same type.

Details

  • There is a hook at an accessible height on the back of the accessible bathroom's door

  • Plastic/paper cups, lids, and straws are offered

  • There are bags with handles available
