Description of Section

This includes the number of accessible spaces, the distance of the accessible spaces from the accessible entrance, and the accessibility of the path from the accessible spaces to the sidewalk that the entrance is on (includes curb ramps).

Details

  • There are 3 accessible parking spaces, 2 of which are van accessible, that are less than 190 feet away from the accessible entrance of Bush Tabernacle

  • There are 2 more accessible spaces right next to Haske Field - these spaces are about 235 feet away from the accessible entrance of Bush Tabernacle

  • The pathway to get on the sidewalk from the parking spaces is accessible with curb ramps that are easy to navigate

Entrance

Description of Section

This includes how easy it is to find the accessible entrance, steps/ramps/pathways from the curb ramp/sidewalk to the door, width of entrance door, lip under the entrance door, presence of automatic door openers, reachability of the door handle, and the weight of the door.

Details

  • The main entrance in the front of Bush Tabernacle is not accessible due to a couple of steps, but there is an accessible entrance in the back

  • There is no signage to inform guests how to get to the accessible entrance

  • The accessible entrance does not have an automatic door, and the door is not too heavy, but not extremely easy to open either

  • There is an entrance ramp to get to the accessible entrance door - the ramp is wide, has handrails on both sides at accessible heights, and is not too steep

  • The door has handles at accessible heights, the threshold underneath the door isn’t difficult to navigate over, there is appropriate maneuvering clearances on both sides, and the door opening is about 32.5 inches wide

  • There is a sign on the inside of the door that says “Emergency exit only”, even tho it is the accessible exit

Water/ Refreshments

Description of Section

This includes the accessibility of water fountains/drinking coolers (height off the ground & space around).

Details

  • There are two water fountains between the two bathrooms, and both are accessible

Interior Pathways

Description of Section

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Details

  • Almost all pathways are more than 36 inches wide, however the pathway near the merchandise/snack counter is a little more narrow and it’s also possible there are items in the way between the accessible entrance door and the roller skating floor

  • There is no accessible way to get up on stage

  • There is signage to help visitors navigate to the bathroom

Section

Seating

Description of Section

This includes if there is seating that is removable and accessible in all functional areas.

Details

  • There is lounging furniture spread throughout the location that have seating surfaces at accessible heights off the floor

  • Almost all of the chairs on the side opposite of the video games are at accessible heights, most of the chairs on the side of the video games are a little taller but there are benches and lounging furniture that are at accessible heights on that side of the building

  • There are plenty of tables throughout the location that are at accessible heights

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Details

  • There is one bathroom labeled for Men and one labeled for Women

  • The bathroom doors are not impossible to open, but could be easier to open, force-wise

  • The bathroom doors are 32.5 inches wide, have door handles at accessible heights, and have the appropriate maneuvering clearances on both sides of the doors

  • The accessible stalls in the bathrooms are least 60 inches wide by 60 inches deep, have accessible doors/locks/handles, there are three accessible grab bars around the toilets, and the toilet paper is reachable from the toilets

  • The soap dispensers, mirrors, and the sinks are at accessible heights off the bathroom floors, but the paper towel dispensers are not

  • The paper towel dispensers require twisting your wrist to get more paper towels out

  • The piping underneath the sinks is completely covered

Section

Point of Sale

Description of Section

This includes the the height of the counters where customers pay at, the reachability of everything at the point of sale counters, and the presence of a removable tablet/card reader.

Details

  • The point of sale counter for merchandise/snacks is 42.5 inches off the floor, and the counter for the picking up skates is 43 inches above the floor

  • It is possible the items on top of the merchandise/snack counter are hard to reach or see

  • At the point of sale counter for merchandise/snacks, there is a card reader that can be moved wherever is easiest for the customer

Amenities

Description of Section

This includes the presence of accessibility features to make this establishment go above and beyond the accessibility of other establishments of the same type.

Details

  • There is a hook at an accessible height on the back of the accessible stall door in the Women’s bathroom

  • Staff that help overlook this facility have gone through VisitAble’s Disability Etiquette Training
