Description of Section

This includes the number of accessible spaces, the distance of the accessible spaces from the accessible entrance, and the accessibility of the path from the accessible spaces to the sidewalk that the entrance is on (includes curb ramps).

Details

  • There are 2 groups of 4 accessible parking spaces that are both 220 feet away from the entrance when using the marked pathways

  • The curb ramps to get on the sidewalks from the accessible parking spaces are not steep, do not have a lip, and are very wide

Entrance

Description of Section

This includes how easy it is to find the accessible entrance, steps/ramps/pathways from the curb ramp/sidewalk to the door, width of entrance door, lip under the entrance door, presence of automatic door openers, reachability of the door handle, and the weight of the door.

Details

  • There is one set of double doors used for the entrance and exit to this establishment, with no automatic door openers

  • The entrance/exit doors are possible to open (not necessarily easy), can be pushed open both to get in and to get out, and the bars on the doors used to push the door open are at accessible heights off the ground

  • The door openings are about 32 inches wide, and the lip underneath the doors is not hard to navigate over

This includes the reachability of products that the location sells, the weight of the products the location sells, and the methods available for carrying around products.

Details

  • Some of the products in this establishment could be considered unreachable/heavy for some customers and you most likely have to go to the middle of the store (there is a desk employees are usually at) to get assistance

  • There are carts and baskets to carry around items

Interior Pathways

Description of Section

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Details

  • There is no where to sit in this establishment

  • Almost all pathways are more than 3 feet wide except for the pathway to get to the bathroom and some of the pathways right at the front of the store

  • There is a step stool in the front right corner of the store (from the viewpoint of a customer just entering) which could be in the way and prevent a 36 inch wide pathway

  • There are no inaccessible areas or pathways that are too steep inside the establishment

Point of Sale

Description of Section

This includes the height of the counters where customers pay at, the reachability of everything at the point of sale counters, the presence of a removable tablet/card reader, and if customers are offered bags with handles.

Details

  • The point of sale counters are not at accessible heights

  • The employees take your card from you to swipe it, but you have to sign the receipt if you use a credit card

  • There are bags with handles

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Details

  • There is one bathroom that customers can use, located in the back of the store

  • The bathroom is not very spacious due to furniture being in the way

  • There are 2 grab bars around the toilet

  • The toilet paper is 9-15 inches from the center of the front of the toilet

  • You have to turn on the lights, but the light switch is at an accessible height

  • The sink is at an accessible height off the bathroom floor, but the mirror, soap, and paper towels are not

  • The sink does not have toe space underneath it

  • The bathroom door is heavy and difficult to open, but has: a wide doorway, no lip underneath it, and a handle at an accessible height
