Justification of Score

  • There are 4 entrance/exit doors at this location: one for Selvedge Brewing’s main area, one for Selvedge Brewing’s indoor seating area, one for The Workshop, and one for the Broadcloth Restaurant

  • All of the 4 entrances/exits are sets of double doors without automatic door openers

  • The door to get into Broadcloth Restaurant could be considered a little difficult to open, but the rest of the doors are relatively easy to open

  • The entrance/exit door handles and hardware are at accessible heights off the ground, and do not require pinching, grasping, or twisting of the wrist

  • The door opening are all greater than 34 inches wide, and the lips underneath are not difficult to navigate over

  • There is adequate maneuvering clearances on both sides of the doors

  • There are accessible ramps to get to the indoor seating area for Selvedge Brewing and to the Workshop, but before the entrance ramp to the Workshop there is a slight upward incline leading up to ramp

  • There is full table service available in The Broadcloth Restaurant and in Selvedge Brewing

  • In the Workshop, customers are typically expected to get transport their food and drinks, but staff are happy to help upon request

  • In the Workshop, customers have to go up to the counter to pay, but the counter is at an accessible height, the card reader is movable, and the tablet can angle downwards to be more reachable and easier to see

  • It’s possible the cream, sugar, and coffee stirrers in The Workshop might be considered difficult to reach, but staff is nearby to help

  • It’s possible the self-serve water in the outdoor seating area might be considered difficult to reach, and customers might have to go into The Workshop or Selvedge Brewing to request it, or request it while they are still inside

  • There are trays available for transporting food, it’s possible customers might have to clarify at the Workshop that they need a flat tray instead of a drink tray

  • Customers can leave their dishes and trash at any of the inside tables, but it is unclear if customers are expected to put up their dishes and trash outside

  • There are accessible tables in the outdoor seating area, in Selvedge Brewing and its extra indoor seating area, and The Broadcloth Restaurant that have knee clearance underneath

  • There is no seating provided for anyone in The Workshop, customers are expected to sit outside or in the extra indoor seating area next to Selvedge Brewing

  • All chairs for the accessible tables, as well as at least one couch and a couple lounging chairs are at accessible heights off the floor and have backrests

  • There is no accessible seating at the Broadcloth Restaurant bar, the counter is at 46 inches above the floor, and the bar counter in Selvedge Brewing is at 42 inches above the floor but was not open for customer seating during the time of our accessibility test

This includes the reachability of merchandise, the availability of employees in the merchandise area, and the availability of bags with handles to help carry merchandise.

  • Some merchandise available for purchase at the Wool Factory might be considered difficult too reach or heavy, but staff is right nearby all merchandise areas and is more than happy to help get and transport any merchandise upon request

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Justification of Score

  • There are only 3 bathrooms labeled as accessible, all in Selvedge Brewing, and the doors to get into all the bathrooms have no thresholds/lips, are not automatic, are easy to open force-wise, and have accessible door widths

  • The Broadcloth Restaurant bathrooms are the only bathrooms with adequate maneuvering clearance to pull open the doors from the inside due to trash cans being next to doors in the other bathrooms - there is only approximately 12 inches of maneuvering clearance between the doors and the trash cans

  • Door locks on all the bathrooms are accessible, but all of the bathroom doors have door knobs which require twisting of the wrist to open

  • All of the bathrooms in Broadcloth Restaurant and the Workshop, as well as all the bathrooms in Selvedge Brewing labeled as accessible have 3 grab bars around the toilets

  • The bathrooms in Broadcloth Restaurant and the Workshop, as well as all the bathrooms in Selvedge Brewing labeled as accessible are all very spacious, but the bathrooms in Broadcloth Restaurant have tables and the bathroom in the Workshop has a barrel, all of which might make approach to the toilet a little more difficult

  • The toilet paper is at a good distance from the front of the toilet in The Workshop, but might be considered a little difficult to reach in the accessible bathrooms in Selvedge Brewing and Broadcloth Restaurant

  • The sinks, light switches, and soap dispensers are at accessible heights off the bathroom floors, but the mirrors are not - however they do angle downwards

  • The paper towels in the Broadcloth Restaurant might be considered difficult to reach, but are more reachable in the Workshop and Selvedge Brewing bathrooms

  • The piping underneath the bathroom sinks are insulated

  • There are plastic/lightweight cups, straws, and lids available in every single area that can be provided upon request

  • There are bags with handles available to take home leftovers and/or merchandise

  • Employees are going through or have gone through a disability etiquette training to differentiate their customer service
