  • There are 2 more accessible spaces on the other side of Fireman's Field, right next to Haske Field - these spaces are about 170 feet away from the entrance gate of Fireman's Field

  • The pathway to get on the sidewalk from the parking spaces is accessible with curb ramps that are easy to navigate

  • The opening of the gates is much wider than 36 inches, and there is no lip or threshold underneath the gates

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Justification of Score

  • All pathways are paved and are greater than 36 inches wide

  • There could be more signage to point people in the right direction to find the more accessible seating areas

  • The pathway to the accessible seating area on the right side of the field has a slight cross slope, angling down away from the field, and there are some bumps in the pavement around this area

  • The pathway to the batting cage area near the main bleachers on the left side of the field has a slight slope to it and there is a vertical change of a couple inches to get into the batting cage area

Description of Section

This includes if there is seating that is removable and accessible in all functional areas.

Justification of Score

  • There are accessible benches for people to rest on behind the main bleachers on the left side of the field

  • There are at least two picnic tables in this location that have table surfaces at 29 inches above the ground, seating surfaces at 15 inches above the ground, and both the table and bench surfaces extend 11.75 inches past the legs of the tables

  • There are seating areas on each side of the field that have bleachers with spaces next to them for visitors and fans with mobility devices, and the first bleacher on these sets of bleachers is at 17.5 inches above the ground

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Justification of Score

  • There is one bathroom labeled for Men and one labeled for Women

  • The bathroom doors are not impossible to open, but could be easier to open, force-wise

  • The bathroom doors are 33 inches wide, have door handles at accessible heights, and the Women’s restroom has the appropriate maneuvering clearances on both sides of the doors but the Men’s does not

  • The accessible stalls in the bathrooms are least 60 inches wide by 60 inches deep, they have hooks on the back of the stall doors that are at a height off the floor that could be considered unreachable, there are two accessible grab bars around the toilets, and the toilet paper could be considered unreachable from the toilets for some visitors and fans

  • The soap dispensers and the sinks are at accessible heights off the bathroom floors, but the paper towels and light switches are not

  • The paper towel dispensers require twisting your wrist to get more paper towels out

  • The piping underneath the sinks is completely insulated

Description of Section

This includes the the height of the counters where customers pay at, the reachability of everything at the point of sale counters, and the presence of a removable tablet/card reader.

  • Both the ticket sales building and the concessions windows have counters at accessible heights off the ground

  • There is a card reader that can be moved wherever is easiest for the visitor/fan at least at the concession windows

  • All tickets and items you buy at the concessions counters are brought to you

This includes the presence of accessibility features to make this establishment go above and beyond the accessibility of other establishments of the same type.

  • There is a pathway to get to the field that does not require going up and down stairs, as well as a pathway made of fine gravel on the field
