One day last week I got home from work to see that the maintenance worker had parked their golf cart on the one ramp that gives me access to the apartment. (I'm a Manual chair user) I had to call management to have it moved but had to wait 15 minutes for them to do so. The conversation started out pleasant until it seemed like their ONLY mission was to move the cart and not to try to learn from the situation. They moved in silence with no words spoken and zero eye contact. That rubbed me the wrong way because I didn't know if they even cared to pay attention to what the real issue was. Clearly they didn't understand/care as to why it's so important not to park on a access ramp so as they backed up the golf cart I educated them about the ADA and the importance of accessibility. Still being met with a stone face and attitude so at the end I had to speak in a language that they could understand and yelled, "park that s#*! There again and I'm going to flatten every tire on that piece of s#*! " that must've expressed how serious I was because after that was said they apologized as they went back to work. I try to catch flies with honey but sometimes you need to use a bottle of pesticide to fix the problem.
